Glenorchy Capital provides sound, unbiased, guidance to those looking to control their own financial future.

As a result of the Global Financial Crisis, many of our family and friends have lost considerable portions of their retirement funds at the hands of traditional asset “managers” and “hedge” funds.

We were overwhelmed with calls for help. Rather than responding to requests individually we decided to create Glenorchy Capital. Here we publish our investment outlook and provide suggestions to trade this view.

We follow trends in the world’s bond, commodity, equity and foreign exchange markets; believing that this is the best way to both accumulate and manage wealth.

Who we are

Thomas MacLeod

An investor who has been trading in world currency, commodity, fixed income and equity markets for approximately 20 years. He trades world financial markets for a living, manage high net worth wealth and advises friends on how to accumulate wealth.

He holds a Masters of Commerce degree in Finance and a Bachelors degree of Philosophy. He began his career as a commodity trader for a Japanese Trading house. 5 Years later he moved to London where he performed market analysis and wealth manage for high net worth individuals for a London based private bank. He then moved to New York as a proprietary trader for a boutique merchant bank where he managed a $100m proprietary macro trading book.

He retired from merchant banking life in July 2007 and relocated to Queenstown New Zealand with his wife and sons. He has since been slowly drawn back into the markets, managing his own funds along with retirement accounts of friends, family, & select high net worth individuals.

Emilio Niederhoffer

A trader of some 10 years experience in equity, foreign exchange and more recently commodity and fixed interest markets. After a 15 year career in the world of high tech start-ups he was called upon to manage his mothers wealth fund after a family tragedy and a disastrous experience with commercial investment advisers.

He has since turned the fund into a private investment powerhouse. Making risk management and capital preservation his priority, he only participates in a trade if he feels that it is safe for his mother. As a result of the latest financial crises he has recently expanded his private fund with the addition of retirement funds of family members and close friends.

He decided to form Glenorchy Capital alongside Thomas MacLeod to help others make sensible long term wealth creation decisions for their families.

He spends his time with his wife and two children at his homes in Queenstown NZ, St. Barts and the family residence in Grindelwald.
